Every hour in this clock is represented by three nines. Care to calculate?

I believe the one, where the glare is, only has two nines. (9/9)

Wow that is confusing

Maybe it is the ninth power that is blocked out by the glare. In other words, (9 divided by 9) equals 1, and 1 times itself nine times is still 1.

Im pretty sure that it is (9/9)^9. That would give the value 1.

It all adds up, and yes every single one has three “9″s. Now I’m seeking this clock out! Must have… nerd powers… can’t resist…

7 isn’t cheating, it’s a well known and easily demonstrated mathematical fact that .999999… = 1

I can’t be bothered going to wikipedia to copy and paste a proof right now, but go and look it up if you really doubt this.

what are the small characters on either side of the square root of 9 at the 9 o’clock position? are they 9s also?

John A: the one for 9 o’clock is the 9th root of (9 raised to the 9th power). When the radical symbol is written without a small character to the left, it means square root by default.
