Russia Wins International Mathematical Olympiad 2007 Despite Language Discrimination?

48th International Mathematical Olympiad just announced results. Konstantin Matveev (Russia) is on the top with 37 points, Peter Scholze (Germany) is on second with 36 points and Caili Shen (China) takes third place with 36 points.

One thing looks odd. Problems on this Olympiad were presented to contestants on 40 languages, except Russian. Coincidence? Error? Conspiracy? I truly hope that the only explanation for this is that webmaster forgot to publish problems on Russian and they were presented to Russian team on their own language. Otherwise it looks really bad.

So, what is it? It may be just a publishing issue… If not that, it’s plain and simple language discrimination.
