Cisco made a very good move by hiring Cordell Ratzlaff, former leader of Human Interface Group at Apple, where he was responsible for designing the amazing Aqua User Interface for MacOS X.
See details inside…
Cordell Ratzlaff now has a title: “Director of User-Centered Design group” at Voice Technology Group.
What this move would mean for Cisco’s customers and shareholders? Lots of things:
1. Innovations in user-centered design of IP Phones and Voice-related applications can drive sales up, as well as acceptance of Cisco products;
2. Uplift of Cisco Voice products usability and UI quality;
3. Re-branding of Cisco image and shifting it towards wide recognized iconic brand;
4. Customer’s love.
I like this move.
I think, talent and creativity of Cordell Ratzlaff will make a lot of sense for Cisco Voice products and help to make Cisco real Human Network company.
